Crewe Heritage Centre is located in the heart of Crewe to the North of Crewe station between the main railway line to the North West and Scotland and the railway line to Chester. A great day out for all of the family!

Visitors to Crewe Heritage Centre have the unique opportunity of viewing exhibits from the history of Crewe.

Rail Exhibits

Our most prominent exhibit at Crewe Heritage Centre is the Advanced Passenger Train, the first train in the world that was able to tilt around bends in the track to allow it to travel faster.
Other rail exhibits include a Class 03 diesel shunter, a Class 47 diesel locomotive, Class 73 diesel electric locomotive and a Class 37 diesel locomotive which is currently under restoration.

Road Exhibits

Buses, both vintage and classic, are regular visitors to Crewe Heritage Centre along with classic cars, motorcycles, ice cream vans and more. In particular, in conjunction with Bentley, Crewe Heritage Centre is proud to exhibit the prototype of the Bentley Continental GT in the main exhibition hall.

Signal Boxes

We have three signal boxes to explore at Crewe Heritage Centre! Crewe Station A Cabin which is a non-functional example of a signal cabin that used to control part of Crewe station. Exeter West is a preserved, fully functional signal box from Exeter and finally Crewe North Junction 'box is a more modern electronic power signalbox which used to control the North end of Crewe Station!

Miniature and Model

The centre hosts a 600 yard miniature railway taking you the whole length of the site, your admission covers one free return trip.

Crewe Heritage Centre is home to the National Model Railroad Association's Calder Northern Division, featuring three 'HO' and 'N' gauge model layouts.
