Registration and change of address

Who has to register?
If your last residence was in Switzerland

The following changes must always be reported to the Regional Consular Centre in London without delay
Who has to register?


All Swiss citizens who intend to stay in the consular district for more than one year and who have announced their departure from Switzerland. You can only be registered in this Regional Consular Centre in London once you have announced your departure in Switzerland.


If your last residence was in Switzerland


Please complete the form "Application for registration with a Swiss Representation", which you obtain below. Please then send the following documents to the Regional Consular Centre in London:

  • Registration form, completed, dated and signed (in case of married couples, both must sign)
  • Your Swiss passport and/or Swiss identity card as well as those of your family members
  • If you do not have a Swiss passport and/or identity card: another official document of identity, e.g. your British passport
  • Your certificate of origin (Heimatschein/acte d’origine/atto d’origine).
  • Your confirmation of departure as well as those of your family members

Please send originals, photocopies will not be accepted.

You may registered by sending the documents by registered mail or by visiting our office from Monday to Friday between 09.00am-12.00noon. Your passports / identity cards will be sent back by registered mail or returned to you at the counter after registration.

If your last residence was abroad (with another Swiss representation)


The following changes must always be reported to the Regional Consular in London without delay:

  • Change of address
  • Departure from the consular district
  • Civil records changes (marriage, birth, divorce, death, change of name)
  • Acquisition of another nationality

Please include your date of birth as well as your e-mail address when completing the online form.

The Regional Consular Centre will then be able to change your address for the mailing of:

  • Swiss Review
  • Voting material
  • Voluntary Old Age Insurance Scheme
  • Solidarity Fund
